Biography:

Choi Minki's existence started out only as a foolish woman's attempt to keep her husband from leaving, and it really did work for awhile. It was far from a happy marriage though, and the arrival of tiny baby Minki did little to change that. It wasn't easy on Minki's older brother, Minseok, either. He was old enough to understand what their parents were fighting about and took on the position of shielding Minki from as much as he could. Thanks to him, Minki has more memories of playing pretend than of the fighting that was happening around him.  This of course only fed Minki's naturally imaginative and spacey nature.

From a young age, Minki was obsessed with the idea that there was more out there for him, and even his favorite little game of make believe were when him and his brother would pretend to be aliens or astronauts. He also didn't like the idea of there being limits of what he could and couldn't do. This was shown most obviously in the ways he chose to look or express himself. He never let the idea of 'girl' or 'boy' things stop him from enjoying, nor did he let them define him.  Of course this got him plenty of unwanted comments and awkward situations of being mistaken for a girl. Minki took it all in stride, and if anything found it easier to ignore certain comments instead of causing a ruckus over them.

It wasn't the easiest path for him to take, especially when his parents finally did divorce and he left Busan to follow his mother to Seoul while his brother left to study abroad. As eccentric as he occasionally appeared, Minki was a quiet boy and being the new kid made him feel even more alien around everyone else, especially with Minseok being so far away.

Minki kept to himself for the most part, choosing to focus more on his studies or any other short lived hobbies he chose to pick up instead of any sort of social life. The social interactions he did have were a little forced, but they got easier for him as time went on. His brother had always been the more outgoing of the two and was one of the main reasons Minki made an effort to be as well.  In fact, Minki probably wouldn'thave made the decision to join a fraternity at all when he first came to Yonsei if it hadn't been suggested to him by Minseok.
